There is that scrapyard on the corner of Davis St and Doolittle. I think Lavin is also still around.
The reason for the decline in scrapyards is the decline of heavy manufacturing in the bay area as well as all of California. You don't see any steel mills or foundries in the bay area except for AB&I on San Leandro st at High st. You don't see any in LA either.
