At Tehama on the UP (ex-SP) Valley Sub, the line crosses the Sacramento River. The bridge was built as a swing bridge in 1898, though the approach spans were replaced in 1929. Back then the Sacramento River was considered a navigable waterway up to Red Bluff at least. The swing span is still in use, though inoperable, and per my understanding has been welded for quite some time.
