That really does look right for 1979 in Silver Springs. You would have found a very different (much more New Wave/Punk) style of dress in College Park, or Downtown DC, but I'm sure the commuters in Silver Spring had a couple of years to catch up.

I used to head up that way on occasion around that time, but dorm living and late afternoon classes made shooting rush hour only commuter trains almost impossible, so I have very few shots of my own like this.

Sadly, MARC has since abandoned this station, moving their operations up a couple hunded yards north to the Metro station.
