I don't disagree there. The sad reality is that most large projects are patronage first actual public benefit, if any, last. Whether the mis-guaging of BART, the poorly laid oui routes, the dysfunctional airport access at both SFO and OAK, the pols interfere to benefit their contributors (bribers). This is unlikely to change in my few years left on this planet.
