I dunno...? I don't have much of an opinion on Elon. He seems to get angry a lot when he doesn't have things go his way, or when folks raise questions about the value of some of his companies... Didn't know he had much to do with Dumbarton rail corridor, though...?

I heard Elon he made a lot of money off of Paypal, some folks think his cars suck and his Tesla stock is way overvalued. I know that I haven't figured out how exactly hyperloop will work operationally or what it would really cost, or what the "boring company" exactly proves by drilling relatively small holes with pretty conventional small boring machines... But, a lot of folks I know who do solar installations think his batteries are great, and he'll launch some folks into space shortly with his Spacex investment, and understands that a reusable launch system could be way cheaper, if they can get the number of reusable launches up to a certain rate...

But, since Elon wasn't even part of this...? And, since he's your pal, as you brought him up, what do you find so attractive about him?
