Note to "crewman", and others interested

"Properly" set up emergency services dispatch offices have instant access to their counterparts in airways, waterways, railways, highways, feds, states, counties - what did I miss?

We have access to railway emergency services desks via their public access telephone numbers and our cellular telephones. (consider adding a Wilson Trucker's antenna and 3 watt amplifier)

Note the telephone number, street name, and ID number on grade crossing bungalows (the little steel buildings nearby) Each company has one telephone number. One of the best services we can furnish is identifying malfunctioning grade crossing signals. Most of us are rather good at spotting quirks and problems. Our calls are welcome. Been there, done that, several times.
Use the same telephone numbers for other problems.

I doubt that emergency service (police, etc) would be welcome on dispatcher lines.
