Been there, done that - thoroughly enjoyable. About 1950; long school weekend.

Over hill and dale following the local "highways".


Freight motorman had heard that a railfan had come from Philadelphia and was having supper.
Then stood on a corner soaking in the type of industrial city I wasn't used to.
He spotted me and knew that I had already paid my return fare. Didn't have to beckon a second time.
