The yardmaster's tower at West Oakland was known as the "Glass House," and yard jobs that worked in that area were bulletined to go on duty at the Glass House, although they actually went on duty in the switchmen's shanty that was located between the passenger yard and the freight yard. The tower was demolished in 2017.
