ELECTRIFIED CONDUIT RAILWAYS

With the recent discussion of third rails and catenary, I would like to know more about "conduit" street railways. The only ones I have heard about in the U.S. are New York City and Washington, (District of Criminals.) These two systems no longer exist.

Does anyone know of any other conduit street railways that existed in the U.S.? Were any of them in the western U.S.? Where?

They certainly were great for asthetics and safety, but good only for low speed and low voltage.
