I remember the SN electrics travelling down the middle of Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento at State Fair time, tying up traffic while pulling boxcars. There was a curve at Stockton and Broadway, and a spur into the fair somewhere in the vicinity. This is probably how they got the locomotives into the fair for the head-on collisions they used to run in the grandstand area. But that was before my time...
