For some reason I had not understood that the Anaheim station was actually completed - sans HSR, of course. [www.google.com]
Impressive installation, in the middle of nowhere. It's a big bus station with a couple of train platforms attached. If you're waiting for a Metrolink train, you'd better not wait in the station building - by the time you hike over to the tracks, the train will be gone.
Given the orientation of the thing, they obviously expected the HSR tracks to follow the freeway rather than the existing train tracks, and that the HSR tracks would be going through to someplace (where? Wasn't Anaheim the end of the line according to the original plans?).
I almost expect to see some Disney monorails in there.
Why did Disney never do a monorail line to the Orange Co airport? Perhaps with a loop through this monstrosity of a "station?"
