Weyerhaeuser had to close its' mill in Snoqualmie,Wa. in the mid - 1980's after they had logged off all the Old - Growth Trees in the area. The smaller 2nd growth trees were falling through the rollers at the mill, and WTC claimed it cost too much to re - tool the operation. The drying kilns would remain active for a few more years, with product hauled in & out by truck.
