CAHSRA does kind of seem like the Bitcoin firms who's ads I'm being deluged with on Facebook. The political magic "cure all" guaranteed investment of infrastructure investments. With lots of churning, until they're done fleecing the rubes....
Our infrastructure is getting old, the urban and interurban freeway congestion sucks, and folks wanted a first world rail system, like we used to have, and that they've experienced in other countries. So they promised impossible things, at what seemed to be no unreasonable costs, and faked the analysis to justify it.
This "sales pitch" left people with not enough real information, big promises, and hope for something better (not unlike these Bitcoin promoters do...). But, some of the trainfans on here still "believe". It's those of us who did this for a living that have seen through this, more critically, than some of the "train" fans and self styled but poorly informed environmentalist's who still "believe", and forwarded me this notice.
I have more limited goals, at this point, and just want to see some of the project funding that they've "tied" to this turd pile, and now are "held hostage" to their incompetence, like the LA Union Station run through, that would save millions of riders hundreds of thousands of hours, and operators millions annually, completed.
