Understand - it's the old SP station, that hasn't had passenger service since 1971. So if somebody "rescues" it, they will have to move it somewhere away from the railroad. If as other notes suggest it's unreinforced masonry, that's going to be a significant job, and certainly it won't be repurposed as a railroad-related building or a passenger station; Bakersfield has no need for the latter.

I'm guessing that UP will end up selling it to a demolition company.
