This is sad, but long expected. It's odd more wasn't made of this in the Sacramento Bee and Chronicle (or perhaps I missed something) It's real history was between the Ferry Building and Sacramento in the 1920's and 30's. A family member used to commute monthly between Sacramento and Humboldt County via the King and Queen, NWP ferry and train to and from Humboldt County. What a trip that would have been! Those with an interest in this stuff should spend an evening by the fire with Stan Garvey's book "King and Queen of the River."
