The Legislature should put Prop 1a back on the ballot along with the recall to allow for a revote on pursuing this thing. Fat chance.

Any exorbitant holes punched through the Tehachapis should be freight compatible so at least the line could be sold off to a class 1. If not you could forget about SF-LA and just build Palmdale Area Rapid Transit, PDale to Burbank.

O'Toole and crowd are right about one thing: it costs a lot to maintain physical plant. If an aviation breakthru does occur HSR as a concept is in trouble in a place like Cali, which is not France where everybody goes on vacation en masse at the same time.
