The California / Texas Exoduses

When people leave California the state they most commonly go to is Texas.
When people leave Texas the state they most commonly go to is California.

They are both large states with large economies, so this is not surprising.

There is a large exchange of tech types, although more go in the California direction because of the availability of venture capital and technically oriented universities. On the other hand Texas has a much larger oil based industry. A chemical engineer would find more jobs, but an electronic engineer would find work more easily in California.

That's just how it is. I have worked in both states but always for a company that had its technical center in California. I am in the electronic end of things you see.
