The State of Washington at one time had a great rail office. It even had its own profitable grain car fleet. Something seemed to have changed though in the mid 2000s.
When you hire a scrap dealer to poorly run a railroad. Which has occurred the past two times. You get what you get. There are plenty of TIGER and other federal grants out there to help cover the cost of rebuilding publicly owned railroads. You just have to apply for them or hire a grant writer to do it for you. When am I going to get my free/subsidized (tax payer purchased) electric car? What a moron. I hate our governor.
