My brother drives school bus. They added cameras to the buses to watch the kids, or so they were told, union agreement prohibited using the cameras against the drivers. So far all the cameras are used for is to criticize the driver, the driver didn't say please, driver should have asked the kid 4 or 5 more times before writing them up, driver hits too many bumps, driver turns too fast, driver stops too hard, driver doesn't sneeze into his sleeve as prescribed by school nurse and on and on. Administrators won't deal with out of control kids unless the whole incident is caught on video, and when something is delt with, there is the mandatory issue of what driver could do better (if he only had unlimited time to sit along the side of the road to "talk a child though a situation".) Administrators look for any excuse not to deal with kids and parents. I suspect the infomation caught on cab video will be abused in a similar fashon by railroad management.
