LIVE Cameras? I'll Believe It When I See It

You'll notice airline pilots don't have cameras aimed at them while they're flying a plane. Surgeons don't have cameras aimed at them while they're operating on a patient. Is it just because they have strong unions?
Are we at a point where we have absolutley NO confidence in an employee doing a competent job and somehow think a camera will miraculously "whip him into shape"? Are we really that stupid?
I agree that this is one more step toward "big brother" watching over us at all times.
These proposed cameras, whether live or tape delayed, will not magically prevent train wrecks any more than surveillance cameras at convenience stores magically prevent robberies. All they'll do is provide a clearer idea of what happened just prior to impact.
It will not solve the root problem.
And no one here who's advocating the use of these cameras, especially if they're a LIVE feed, has addressed the issue of who's going to WATCH these videos. Will there be a one-on-one ratio of train engineers vs. video observers? Will there be some sub-contracted, under-paid outsourced worker in Mumbai watching 50 video screens simultaneously?
As usual, there's way too much political showboating here in front of a gullible news media and no one asking the hard questions.
