It would take a lot of work to bring the line through Boise up to passenger train standards again. There are even some major thoroughfares here in town that don't have crossing gates, only the cross bucks and signals.

As far as scheduling, a lot would depend on whether the Desert Wind was reinstated and whether the service is intended as a California Zephyr connection or more as an inland north-south routing aimed primarily at serving intermediate city pairs like Las Vegas-Boise.
