Whether he did or did not is unimportant here. The train derailed because of a failed wheel bearing. Brakes had nothing to do with it. Nice try. Next.

Shower us with your knowledge, big boy. Explain to us how it all works.

Again, shower us with your knowledge, big boy. Explain to us the intricacies of an Espee KEY train. Whether correct or not, I managed to find this about KEY trains on that "other" website that everyone loves to hate, as they spend their time here.
A "Key train" is a train with 20 or more hazardous cars. I don't have my Special Instructions handy, but there are numerous restrictions involved with Key trains. If there's a meet, the Key train is supposed to hold the main and is not for any reason allowed to go into a siding that is below a certain speed (IIRC, it's 15 MPH), the train is also restricted to 50 MPH. Even if it's a double stack and there are 20 or more of those small hazardous tanks, then it's a Key train.-BMT

>> Too bad we don't have any journalists with enough railroad operational knowledge that they could ask questions like this. Where's Don Phillips when we need him?
> I've read some of Don Phillips articles, and while he had a good spiel that might impress the unknowing, he wasn't really all that knowledgeable about RR ops.
He would be a helluva improvement over the clowns who are currently asking the questions.
