I know of no politician of either party and of any ideology who has stated, I'd really like to transfer that $630,000 to Amtrak so it restore the Pioneer. However, if you know of a politician who made such a statement, feel free to post a link to such a statement here.
On
what basis do you make the claim that there are no taxpayer dollars to restore the Pioneer?
No one knows how much it costs to make necessary upgrades to track, signals, and other infrastructure as well as purchase new rolling stock. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is currently conducting a study of restoring service on routes which Amtrak discontinued, including the Pioneer. That study will develop initial cost estimates. Once the costs are known, the information can be provided to elected officials. Then we will know if there is enough money to restore the Pioneer.
Here's a suggestion. Instead of spending hours and hours of time digging up stupid tweets and videos, try and educate your self about what's really going on in the American transportation world (like the FRA study). I was able to find out about this study. You should be able to do so, too.
