Well, only your accountant and tax lawyer can answer that with any authority, and even then the IRS can probably argue with you. But seems to me it is deductible assuming the Portola museum in a charity, which I think it is, minus the FMV of what you get. So I'd go back into some old WP tariffs and find out what the coach fare from Oroville to Portola was back when it was steam hauled, maybe check a dining car menu for the price of lunch, and then add in an appropriate amount for inflation. Whatever is left over should be deductible.
