I visited the Safeway warehouse in 1976-77, and the only piece of equipment stored under cover was the UP 4466. The other equipment there (the three SP diesels and the NWP coach) were all sitting outdoors. IIRC, there were two tracks that went into the building, but they were pretty short--each would hold only 2-3 freight cars.
