The -200 lasted a long time in the far Canadian north, because they are among the few commercial jets that can be equipped for operating on gravel strips. More modern (mostly turboprop) alternatives have now become available, so the old -200s are going to scrap or offshore. Sort of like finding a steam engine or rare "critter" working at some obscure industrial plant or short line many years after the rest of the world moved on to bigger and (arguably) better things.
