Do u think the Germans and their Swiss neighbors discovered some magical new strategy that's never been though of before? Because probably all of their strategies and arguments in their versions of implementation have been discussed in the US. At the local/regiona/state/federal level. Going back at least to the 60's and most much further back. What works over there in a different geographic, different density, different culture & different politics doesn't mean it will be chosen elsewhere. Sometimes it has been. Sometimes it has been rejected. Politics matter. Details matter. Context matters.
So your post does nothing to address mine. But u get to pose as hip for using a foreign term. & reveal the usual leftist view that anyone who disagrees surely must be ignorant and not understand. "How could someone possibly come to a different conclusion from mine?"
I would love to see a fulling integrated/effectively single Bay Area transit system. I think the good outweighs the costs. And have no Utopian false visions that there wouldn't be tradeoffs. But there are reasons why it hasn't happen before. & may not happen soon. Despite what Joy Reed or Vox or The Bike Marxists Blog may tell u.
