For starters, the NWP freight depot at Novato has been razed. Secondly, a station stop at Grant in downtown Novato is a poor idea. Space is very limited at this location - mostly thanks to the new mixed commercial-residential complex (hosting Whole Foods) on the former Pini Mill site, and besides, Novato residents will be well served by nearby stations at Atherton and Ignacio. I find it difficult to believe that a city with a population of roughly 50,000 people would actually need three SMART commuter stations. As the writer stated in his piece, Santa Rosa - which is what, three times larger than Novato - will receive only two stations.
