The real point is that station location doesn't make much difference
to rail ridership.

Ridership to/from Novato is not predicted to be very large, even
by SMART. The view that somehow a rail stop in
downtown Novato would bring substantially more people to Grant
Ave. is pretty wishful thinking. Barry Buckley's view that somehow Novato
would become some hub for tourist travel is silly.

Also, developing Port Sonoma ferry is a pipedream, unless the NCRA
can make it into the Eel River Canyon. Even the ferry transit
people know that the economics do not support a ferry terminal
at Port Sonoma.
