Given the number of typos that appear in this forum, I find
it interesting that so much attention has focused (or "focussed"
in Great Britain) on the typo committed by Mitsy.

I think the questions she raises are legitimate and they should
concern NCRA supporters. Obviously, there has been and likely
will be legal challenges to the NCRA's EIR. Unless a court
throws them out that process will take time to resolve. (I favor
freight start-up but am realistic regarding how long this
process is likely to take.)

So, what I don't get, is why don't the NCRA press releases
recognize these likely challenges. Other public agencies
do that regularly.

It seems to me, part of the problem here is that the NCRA
management doesn't seem to recognize or care that it has
been consistently missing promised deliverable dates.

Supporters blame others for these delays. I'm tempted to
blame the NCRA for not recognizing that for projects this
controversial, the process is likely to take years to work
out, with great uncertainty as to the outcome.

My belief is this. At the end of the day, this is ultimately
going to be determined by economics. Is there enough
demand for freight services for NWP to make a profit or not?
If the answer is yes, freight service will return to the
region. If not, we sure seem to be spending a lot of time
on a lost cause.
