The losses are mounting for the rail suppliers and shortlines, and we're in for a long slog to get back. Some of these can't get paid, so they can't pay the suppliers, so some of these folks may survive, by filing for bankruptcy protection, but others won't. I was chided for calling this a "depression", but since Warren Buffet's number two called it that, yesterday, I'll call it that too. It ain't like any other "recession" I've lived through. Railroads have seen container traffic from ports drop between 30 and 40 percent. This economy may have stopped going down so fast, but this is a long way from coming back. May end up so bad that even folks like Mitsy will be happy to hear the sound of a "noisy" train whistle?
