I'll bet Ewe - Pee is receiving carbon credits or sumptin' like that for the repowers. Otherwise it doesn't pay to do them. Recall previous efforts by Espee, Santa Fe, MK Rail & others @ using non - railroad prime movers in locomotive applications. No matter how good they were, they were oddballs; a very few among the many EMD & GE prime movers. Parts & service issues were many, & good luck calling La Grange or Erie for help...
