Too much damage on dragging a chain? I was hoping for simple, low tech.

I do like all the ideas presented. I'm also happy to hear potential downfalls presented. This allows me to work towards more constructive means.

The closest protected crossing is 255, and it will be a while yet.

I would love the means professional railroads have for their weed/tree control, problem is money. I think the best at the moment, is to borrow the bucket truck from work, to trim the high stuff.

The only problem I see with fire, is the need to suppress any resulting unwanted fires.
