Flappin' yer jaws like ya know whut yer talkin' about isn't welcome here, either. I've had firefighting training (unlike some of the loudmouth know-it-all yammerers here) and I know damn well that a trestle fire is one of the hardest fires to fight, especially in a location like that. The firefighters did exactly as they should have in this situation. If anyone here disagrees, then go become a firefighter and try fighting these fires yourself; you'll quickly learn it's not as simple or as straightforward as you may think.

Mr. Epling's statements may not be very diplomatic or popular with some, but he and jdm have hit the nail dead on. It's damn easy for people who know little or nothing about a given subject to criticize, and damn difficult for those same persons to come up with reasonable ideas or recommendations. (I'm not saying that you have to be an expert on the subject in question; you should, however, have some familiarity with that subject.)
