The " Tacoma " Dinner Train was run by the Temple Family, same as when it was in Renton. Lack of ridership in Tacoma,("From skidrow to the meth labs !!! " ) and the cost of trucking everything ( food, employees ) from Renton were factors in its' short run in Tacoma. Oh yea, they also needed an extra locomotive to climb the Gulch on the ex - Milwaukee Road line. Any sale of the equipment took place after the end of operations in Tacoma.
Regarding current ops on the Woodinville Sub, I understood the Safeway bakery in Bellevue still received hoppers of flour; rusty rails & filled - in flangeways indicate otherwise. With regard to the Wilburton "tunnel",( man - made ) which was removed for expansion of I - 405, I drive through the area 5 - 6 times a week; NO effort has yet begun on building a replacement rail structure. I seriously doubt it will happen; WA DOT was too cheap to build a shoofly to keep the tracks open during construction, and BNSF is trying to sell the line to Port of Seattle / King Co. / Tom Payne / Microsoft / whoever. The give a $#!t factor is quite low...
