Hello Sir,
I will be glad to take some pictures for you of that part of the old WP ROW this weekend on my way to work at OAK.If you would like shots of specific locations please let me know. I can't promise the quality since I don't want to use my good equipment in that part of town.
My Grandfather lived on 37th Ave where it dead ended at the creek a couple of blocks north of E14th. He also worked for more than 50 years at the SP cabinet shop in Oakland as a journeyman cabinet/furniture maker. He most likely was involved in the planeing of the timbers I have read about in your past posts that were used for the live steam in the park. Part of his job was to grind/sharpen or make from tool steel stock all of the custom tooling/knives used in the shops. My other Grandfather retired from the SP ferries as a 2nd Engineer/absm.
If any one has pictures of SP cabinet shops in Oakland I would like to see them I can't find any at the Sac museum but I do remeber going there a few times each summer growing up to have lunch with him.
Thank you and have a nice day,
John Delapena
