Fine photos, as usual. I had the opportunity to visit London in September and October 1976, courtesy of the U.S. Navy, and had the privilege of being at Paddington during the very first week of regular HST (later Class 43) operations. The sleek new trains mixed at the historic platforms with the last of the Class 52 "Western" diesel-hydraulics, which were still hauling older Mark I "slam-door" coaches with individual compartments and exterior doors from each.
It's really an adventure to visit London's historic 19th-Century depots and see them teeming with 21st-Century trains such as Eurostars, Class 332s and Pendolinos.
