I'm always happy to see rail news from outside
the U.S. There's lots of interesting stuff
going on out there!

The clever part about the British HST was
that it could stop in the same distance as
the older, slower trains. This meant that
the signalling didn't have to be changed.
The cost of changing signalling would have
messed up the business case for the project.
