Hey Carol, my then girlfriend ( now wife ) & I stayed @ Isaac Walton Inn in Oct. 2007; their ( box ) lunches are REALLY expensive. They can charge what they want when every other place West to Whitefish is already closed for the winter. Yes, U.S. Hwy 2 is a pretty drive, and easy, too. Here's a thought; why not have Doyle stop @ the Inn like Amtrak does, then stay the night & use the Inn's rent - a - car for driving around ??? Maybe you could bribe some friends to come get you for the remainder of the trip home ...
