I remember reading about the big UP Turbines operating through Los Angeles residential areas - the sound was so thunderous that housewives got really scared! All that volume I'm sure is what got the Turbines out of the LA area. OK - restore one unit and operate it at the Perris Museum!!! Wish I had heard one in person. Thanks to those who posted their memories!
