The Placerville end of the branch was abandoned in 1989 and by then the 1771 had been moved into
the resto area of CSRM which was already occupying part of the shop area. There were big plans for
the shops and adjoining areas even then and that's twenty years ago. "Archives" pretty much sums
up the history of all the proposals and though it's a very desirable piece of property of maybe
because it is it'll never go anywhere without a block development of the whole parcel. It could be
another twenty years.
