Re: Sacramento Project "almost a city into itself"

The latest contractor hired to do early street grading and preliminary infrastructure has pulled off the job, reportedly due to non-payment by Thomas Enterprises. Security is also noticibly absent from the entrance gate for the past 3 weeks. Thomas' website still is filled with glowing positive propaganda about dollars just about to arrive... Meanwhile, the CSRM volunteers continue to get jerked around by phantom deadlines to vacate facilities for imminent repair work that never comes to pass. Last year the Museum was forced to make hard choices about what to keep and what to get rid of, so that the land West of the Boiler Shop could be remediated for contamination. Stuff went away, the deadline passed, and now months later nothing has happened except a few survey stakes. Draw your own conclusions about the developer.
