The GGRM did the SP Business car Oakland with Rhino liner with positive results. The PLA and GGRM then did the Pullman Gothic Peak and SP lounge car at the same time to reduce the overall costs also with positive results. The PLA is now planning to do two more of their cars soon with a buget of $10,000.00 per car. As you can see this is not a cheap process and as far as I know there has not been any long term testing to judge how long we can expect that the roof will remain sealed but so far it seems like a promising solution to maintaining car roofs.
For those who don't know, the GGRM is storing (and sometimes operating) their equipment on the PLA's Niles Canyon Railroad until they find a new home or decide to join us. In the mean time we work together to find solutions to preserve equipment.
