I was last there in 2004, but I don't think things have changed there that much...

A good train-watching spot on the ex-ACL main is as Winter Park, just north of Orlando. The Amtrak station here has a nice ground-level platform that allows for some long shots (I shot the Silver Meteor here and got a good view of almost the entire train).

About 20 or so miles north of Orlando is Sanford, the southern terminus of Amtrak's Auto Train. You can usually get some good photography from the adjacent streets, although there is some construction going on (Amtrak is building a new station building here).

The Orlando depot, on the south edge of downtown, is classic Spanish-style architecture and also has long platforms from which to shoot.
