GN relocation downhill from Berne

Remember riding thru the original alignment during a Fast Mail / Cascade roundtrip to Wenatchee.
The Fast Mail flagman showed me the watchman at his cabin, with appropriate signals both ways.
He walked the line before every train.

Watched the construction of the bridge and tunnel.

Years later, I walked the original alignment. Found the remains of the cabin. Watch for it.
