ORHF has until January 15, 2011 to get EVERYTHING except the three steam engines off UP property..the steam engines can remain inside the roundhouse for an additional year (January 15, 2012).
Once the parties agreed to a sale/purchase agreement on the property last January, the clock began "ticking" and UP effectivly issued an eviction notice limiting continued use of their facilities. ORHF/City of Portland is scheduled to close on the property in early November and a place to store the many pieces of equipment that won't fit in the East Portland site must be quickly found and the equipment made roadworthy in order to be moved on UP rails.
