Bob,
Most of the track is still there, but the middle is gone. Back at least 10 years ago, theives tore up the track behind the cemetery where no one would notice them to steal the rotten ties, which the sold on the street corners (I even saw them, but didn't realize it was "our" ties they were selling. In spite of neighbors near the access they were using complaining, the sheriff never bothered them--until the theft was reported to me by a neighbor. Then the city became interested, and the thieves were caught, and the thing was pleaded to restitution (although we had them on a felony--but it wasn't a drug deal, just railroad track, so no one was really interested. The gang then stole some copper wire to pay it!
About 3 years ago, a new waste water line was put in just where the track climbed up to go behind the cometary, so more track was taken up, but this time it was torch cut, and pieces used to make an access gate. Not likely it'll ever be put back down now.
You could still run on about a mile at the north end, and at the south end.
Steamcerely,
DAvid D.
