Two of the former PanAm pilots that I stay in touch with were good friends of my Dad
and they both befriended me when I was a kid. Another is Dick Truesdale, the man who
started and ran West Side Model Co.
Back in '84, I went to an airshow @ Watsonville with my Dad. I think he went more to
visit with his old PanAm buddies more than anything. He introduced me to the Captain
of the Clipper that was strafed by the Japanese @ Wake Island & just did make it out of
there. One bullet came within a couple inches of crippling the aircraft.
