Well stated, Jeff. I think you echo the sentiments of many who spent time amongst the Ponderosas below Shasta, especially among the younger fans such as myself who are greatful for having experienced an anachronism such as the McCloud. Of all the railroads I have visited in ten years of enjoying this hobby, none came close to yielding the intimate experiences this operation did. Few railrods were ever as fan-friendly as this one.

We owe many thanks to the handful of employees, many who volunteered their time after retirement to keep this railroad running into the 21st century.
