Just to clarify, I said:

"Granted, the V&T damaged it, but now it's been painted over and it not protected this year. "

The real story is a lot more complicated, in short as part of a settlement the V&T admitted to this in a legal filing and did the repairs. The extent of the "damage" is another story too long to tell here.
